Actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna joined actor-husband Akshay Kumar for PadMan promotions in Delhi on Monday and we were immediately drawn to her standout ensemble. While her typical style includes more comfortable, casual ensembles, she switched thing up a little, when she tucked her black Zara top into a multicolour striped midi skirt from high-end Italian label, Missoni.

Midi skirts are the perfect ladylike addition to every wardrobe and Twinkle paired her glorious techni-colour one (selling at Rs 1,00,800), with a black blazer from Lavish Alice. Big and bold stripes are totally in and Twinkle’s rainbow number showed its countless styling options: For a more street fashion-forward iteration, you could layer with a longer jacket or tuck in a graphic tee.

A midi skirt like Twinkle’s can seamlessly take you from the office to happy hour; the work-appropriate length still feels playful enough to wear for evening events. It will also be a warmer choice compared to a miniskirt. But, like her, remember to go for vertical stripe, which are more flattering, as they give off the illusion of a longer frame.

A striped midi skirt is a feminine statement piece, so let yourself feel girlie and accessorise accordingly. Twinkle accentuated her’s with complementing accessories, like a Chanel bag and neutral Charles and Keith heels that lend her look a subtle lift without taking away from the pattern on her skirt.

Twinkle kept her beauty look basic, opting for dewy make-up, heavy eyeliner, glossy lips and naturally blow-dried her long bob hairstyle.
